I'm working on putting the 400 together and I have 2 different balancers I can use. one is a wide, full round balancer and the other is thinner.
Any reason to use one over the other performance-wise?
Thanks
Howard

Which ever one that isn't 30-40 years old..

the rubber gets old and cracks.. then bad things happen.
Otherwise I would say the wider heavier of the two.
More mass to "Dampen" the shock loading of those pistons going up and down.
Happy New Year 2012!!..

i'd sure go with the heavier one, the 302 outter ring has to be way to light for a 400...
unless you'd rather trade bearing life for less rotational mass and maybe slightly faster spool-up
are the timing scales in the same place?
there'll be phantoms, there'll be fires on the road... and the white man dancing

Came off of 351Ms so I think I will go with the bigger one.
Thanks
