Next on the agenda is Friends of the Library I Topped the Rock library fundraiser. It seems the levy failed by a mere 9 votes and several concerned citizens, businesses and veterans are gathering on Saturday June 20, 2009 at 10-am in front of the Castle Rock Library in downtown Castle Rock to top the rock by participating in a 5k walk and run fitness goal in Topping the Rock and join in the auctions, enjoy free hot dogs and other activities to save the library. One of the next events will be Castle Rocks Mountain Mania. The AAPBA is on the fundraising committee and assisting with coordinating and developing the car drag races, band management and t-shirt production. The AAPBA encourages all Canine Society members and all others to join the fun and participate in volunteer efforts or just attend the festivities. Mountain Mania will be on all day Saturday July 25, 2009 in Downtown Castle Rock.
Alright dog lovers get ready for the 2009 Dogapalooza! Yes it is that time again for some hot doggin races!!! The Canine Society needs all members and volunteers to help with setting up and various tasks on Saturday September 19, 2009 for the Dogapalooza.
For past updates, The Canine Society had a part in helping 2 very successful events this past month. The Annual Pug Parade sponsored by The Valley Bugler, the Dog Zone and the AAPBA was an absolute fantastic event full of pugs, parades, prizes and posturing pretenders. The Canine Society assisted in directing traffic, admission, prize patrol and videography. For more check out the Valley Bugler website at www.valleybugler.com
Another great event the Canine Society had a part in was this past weekends Starlight Run in downtown Portland, OR. The Canine Society was there to assist the event coordinators and staff with registration for the runners and other various tasks. The Canine Society and its members are quickly becoming the active and dependable group to rely on. Awesome!
