I have sensitive ears too. Running and hiding is good if your mistress sings.
I find that it also helps to yelp, scream, and hiss. It improves the sound, somehow.
I myself have a beautiful voice.
Mrs. Grundy is jealous becaue the Director always gives me solos to sing. Perhaps the Director will let you hum a little with me while you run in front of Mrs. Grundy to help her achieve her high notes.
