Yeah, it's a wrestling reference. While everybody knows about Jeff Hardy through RECBT and, well, MMK, little is said about Jeff's brother Matt. The two of them were a tag team for a while and eventually broke apart since they did everything a tag team can do about 10 times over. They each went their separate ways. Jeff became a feminine, suicidal, drugged-up, badly-painted wrestler whose bones are seconds away from becoming dust thanks to years of using his body as a weapon.
Matt, on the other hand, started a cocky heel gimmick where he calls himself Matt Hardy Version 1.0. He keeps going on at great lengths to others about how great "Mattitude" is while carrying a stereo on his shoulder. The angry and confused look that's always on his face makes it work.
When he comes to the ring, the viewers are treated to seeing it through a Quicktime filter, where he seems slightly pixelated while you see the regular Quicktime sidebar options like play, stop, etc. During this, there's a space that gives out "Matt Facts". These could be what his favorite food is, his favorite movie, or the fact that when he and Jeff were kids, Matt would get more Halloween candy.
Currently he has his own follower Shannon Moore (Version 2.0) who does nothing more than get abused verbally and physicially.
Now I have to wonder how Freeboy would react to Rock Howard in RECBT
