See, this is why I don't sign up for FAJ, or for RECBT anymore. There are simply too many characters I don't know. Sometimes they're even parodies of other characters I don't know, making the difficulty of writing them twice as hard. Chibi-ness and research can only go so far before it becomes a chore.
I find writing for fics with original characters (STWA, IDFRL) more fun. You don't have to do so much research just to make sure you're getting characters right.
