For the sake of completeness, here's the old message board, which apparently went insane. Ha ha! We are infectious!
No idea if W4 will ever see this...

But remember back in the day, when I said I wanted to use Dr Catastrophous as my character in an RPG?
Yeah, I didn't either.
But, after all this time, I've finally gotten in the right game (Adventure! a 1920's pulp game with an entire chapter on mad science rules), and it's been pretty sweet. Since W4 said to post things about the game, and there's some good stuff to post, I'm doing it.
The PCs are the Doc, played by me, Marie, a young super genius who loves making robotic creepy vermin, played by Liz, and 'Winch' Winchester, drunken ignorant outlaw gunfighter left over from the Wild West, played by Josh.
Now, on with the show...
[after Winch catches a bullet during a fight he started]
Doc: "How have you survived this long?"
Winch: [gets out his flask, and smokes a cigarette down to ash in one drag] "Clean livin'."
Doc: ...Of course! Now, About your injuries... [hands him a small jar of olives] These will make it easier for you to recover, just don't have more than one every eight hours. If you do have more than that, be sure to write down the side effects for my records.
More to come, when I have more time to post.

Doc: The Rational Experimentation Group is basing operations in Chicago? Why would a collection of evil geniuses base themselves in the most crime-ridden- oh, right.
[After Winch makes a pass at a waitress in Chinatown]
Doc: That's surprising. By now, I was certain you were a racist.
Winch: Eh, women are all the same on the inside.
Marie: Hey, there's a forcefield around this factory!
Doc: Really? Where? BONK
Winch: How're we gonna find out what's in there? We can't even git close to the doors n' windows!
Marie: Fluffy and Cuddles can climb up and look through the skylight! [Huge robotic spiders come up next to her]
Doc: And we return to counting on the machina ex machina.
Josh: I'm going to have Winch crash in through the skylight.
Me: He's Batgeezer!
[Face to face with the robot that runs the factory]
Winch: Who made this place?
Robot: Click Authorization password required.
Winch: ...Is the password "PASSWORD?" (I'm spending the Inspiration to Dramatic Edit the scene, so it WILL be "Password.")
Robot: Authorization accepted.
Me: Damn, Josh, two good ideas in one day? Beginner's luck.

I'm only one and three quarters months late! Maybe I can say I'm celebrating the Chinese New Year, despite me not being Chinese, not being in China, and being late for that anyway.
Oh, and oog, this front page of the board is scary. ONE POST for all of 2007. Scroll down to the bottom and there are posts from 2004. Sad to see this board become a shadow of its former self.

I used to read the stuff here back in the day, but never did finish reading them, and then I lost the site... But now I'm back, to start reading all over again!
Hmmm... is this site still active? It looks like some of the stories might have stalled years ago, but perhaps a cocky newcomer could revive them, assuming it's still possible...

I'm sure the admins (if, in fact, there are any left) have already been
notified, but I thought I'd share with the rest of you. Come to think
of it, is there a 'rest of you'?
Regardless.
Thomas Wilde says he's making progress on the final chapters of
Self-Extraction.
Me, I figure that's cause for rejoicing.

This was due to the home internet connection going asplode for many many moons and the work internet connection deciding to block damn near everything. Eventually I grew so unused to checking this board daily that I just stopped checking it daily. Then I just stopped checking when I realised nothing was happening.
But suddenly work is for some reason not blocking Network54 anymore, and i have stable connection at home. So, perhaps, I am back.
I hope.
I have a "RECBT 144: Exposed!" piece, which is me basically putting in comments and trying to remember why I did various things, about two years after I wrote it. Which I did because it was my last Impro chapter ever.
Oh, and I'm thirty now.
Damn, I'm an old fogey.

Thing is, we seem to be the only ones who have posted in the past three months. Is anybody else around?
And all of 2005 is on this one page! Aiee!
I'm still not sure about putting RECBT144:Exposed anywhere. It just seems so... gratuitous. And I'm not sure there are any interesting insights. Plus I would have to remember how to make changes to my website. I haven't touched that thing for a while.

Although I've only ever posted once, I have been a fan of Indie Madnesse for quite a while. I would certainly welcome any addition to RECBT, whether it's omake or even (gasp!) a new part. I have thought of signing up for RECBT, but right now, school and work dominate most of my time.
I do however, have some omake for FAJ that I'd be willing to submit.

I saw him posting comments in various livejournals for a while, but I can't remember how long it's been since I saw the last one. Anybody else know what Merv's up to?
(Of course, I could just email him, rather than rely on Mervyn-sightings...)
Posted on Apr 18, 2006, 2:17 AM from IP address 203.20.192.54
Personally, I have thought on and off about actually, you know, writing a new chapter of RECBT. While I know myself better than to make guarantees, certainly it would facilitate things if I knew such a thing had the chance of making it to the page.
I'm still alive, by generous definitions of "alive." I am, however, mostly going around tugging my hair and saying "AAAAAAAAAAAH!" Things are gonna be insane here for a while, but summer fast approaches and then I can stop and breathe for a while.
One thing I considered doing (the, uh *cough*last time I made an appearance*cough*) was putting up some stuff I'd written myself, but that has two problems. First, the amount of "fun" writing I've done over the past, oh, year and a half is probably not more than six pages, and second...I, uh, I'm not actually certain I still have the login info for the site. I've changed computers a time or two. Still, that's something I can resolve with Calc if there's actually a demand for it
Anyway, should I vanish again and someone actually wants to find me (like Mark, who poked me via email today), the addy is keith[underscore]knop[at]yahoo[dot]com.

Anyhow, I can't say I remember the boxers, either. Certainly nothing I wrote. If worse comes to worse, you might just have to Ctrl+F "rape" in each of the chapters. I want to say starting from the last chapter is your best bet, but I don't have any logical basis for that.
I remember when I first started reading USEnet, many years ago, and seeing UVR2 (before it had its hiatus in the middle), all that time ago. Fast forward to now, and cripes but bugger me sideways with a tank-treaded camel, UVR3 is finally done. I remember starting to read UVR3 way back when also, and there were a few times I thought it had died, never to return, and here we are, it's finished.
Well done to everyone writing it and not letting it die. Mad props to Gavok, Racewing, MMK, and Wanderer.
...though I must admit, I hardly ever voted in these things. I always thought it was dead. ;_; The last time I remember voting was back in the UVR2 days.
And as for Geese winning - heh. There's one thing to see the votes saying Geese should win, there's quite another to see him and Kim duke it out in a huge big slobberknocker of a finale.
And his winning move was fine form. ^_^
Once again, mad props to everyone involved.

damn good show all around, and I especially commend you on the back and forth regarding the Kim/geese fight. that said, for UVR4, i'd like to petition the following mystery fighters, or at least some sort of cameo
1. Urban Champion (Urban champion, NES)
- why him? because he's the guy from one of the earliest fighting games in recorded history, but never reached the fame of the karate masters or
2. Alex (Kung Fu, arcade/NES)
- why him? the godfather of ass-kicking, like the urban champion above, he helped define how beat-em-ups evolved.
3. somebody from the rocky video game, preferably rocky, drago or clubber
4. batman (Justice league task force, batman returns. both for genesis/snes)
- bonus match vs. captain america, at least.

I did have early plans to put Batman in UVR4 and have him come out immediately after Cap. I mean, if Marvel and DC are so overprotective that they wouldn't give either character leeway (ie. JLA Avengers or how Cap lost in Marvel vs. DC), why not have the UVR voters figure it out?
I dropped the idea due to the fact that Batman would ultimately get involved with the backstage shenanigans and I didn't really want to have to deal with that.

JP, a friend of mine, has been way too busy but we've been talking about making a continuation of FAJ's last chapter, with The Smoker and Boingo, Kyo summoning a dark terror from outer space (A katamari!) and some continued action all round. If anyone's interested in contributing ideas, give me a ring.

Ack. Only one more year to go and I'm 30. Which isn't OLD, exactly, it's just that it's now right around the corner instead of comfortably far-off, like it used to be.

Thirty seems to scare a whole lot of people for some reason. Hell, I'm five years younger than you, and it's already giving me the heebie-jeebies. Eh. All in our heads, I'm sure. Happy belated, from a guy who isn't on his computer as much as he used to be.
hey, im in Tera Melos, and we just put up a few new tunes, and the recording quality is even pretty good. if you have a second, please check it out and tell us what you think. we would also like to know what you crazy musician types, or regular people would call this style or sound or whatever.
