Also, the MMK would like to sign up for RECBT. He figures it'll keep him nice and happy. And maybe make him start referring to himself as "I" again. He's stuck in third person! Help him! Aiee!

Here, it's 1:08, but then I spent some time admiring the fireworks and listening to the church bells. happy sigh
I resolve to update IFR more often, get GMCA up to speed, and work on my various other writing projects and gaming. Oh yeah, and do better in school. Yep.

It's 2:43 pm here. I was up well into the night, but we didn't bother with watching fireworks or, even, listening to any radio / TV broadcasts to know when the countdown started.
I resolve to, well, be a bit more responsible in general. Losing weight is part of that, as is perhaps even buying a house. I also resolve to update my webpage more often. (nodnod)

I resolve to excercise more and procrastinate less! And the cynic in me suspects that both of those resolutions will die horrible screaming deaths, but what the hey.
BTW, Mark, the SM scenes look good. I'll have something posted before the next semester starts if it kills me.

...anyway. Resolutions: actually write at least one short story, fiction or fanfiction, that /doesn't/ make me want to tear my eyes out; write more poetry; use my new lj (http://www.livejournal.com/~melpomenes_mask, for the interested) for something other than posting poetry/quizzes; get my Algebra grade /higher/ than a B by the end of the school year; actually /beat/ one of the video games I've started.
...note that the last two and the first one are the least likely to happen. ^^;

Feel free to e-mail /or/ comment on lj about 'em, if you're going to. ^^
By the way...was that bit about "write more myth stuff" to me or you? ^^;; If to me, I've done a /bit/ more - a few more poems, and a short story about Cassandra that IMO is the best thing I've ever written. Which isn't saying /that/ much, considering as my writings include several thankfully-abandoned Mary Sues, a few eeeeeeeeeeh songfics, and that one RECBT chapter which was just script-format and had a decent chunk supplied by Signus... ^^;; But hey, people've seemed to like 'Cassandra', so. ^^

By the way, ever read Marion Zimmer Bradley's Avalon and Firebrand? Both are retellings of the Arthurian Legends and the Trojan War, respectively, from the point of view of women. I just thought your writing reminded me of them. ^_^

...and their points of view in well-known mythological settings, I thought that they felt influenced by MZB. I don't have much points for comparison, though, as I only read those two books. ^_^;;; Let's just say I thought your writings were influenced by her.

Kidding, kidding... Anyway, I've read yourpoems, and they're great stuff. I've posted my thoughts on them on your lj, SD. They're the once that say "Hi SD!" right at the very beginning. ^^;;;

Even though the day got off to a piss-poor start, it soon got better.
Watched the first two episodes of "Gokudo" with Calculus.
Met with some of my Experts of Cosplay pals and their pals. There were seven of us. We went to Arcade Infinity, ate at a nearby restaurant, went back to Arcade Infinity and ushered in the new year with fireworks at one of my pal's house.
Pictures to be coming soon as Wayne had a digital camera. ^_^
New Years Resolutions? Like many other things in my life, it's on indefinite hold until I can find a job. ;_;

Hola, folks! I just got back from Texas and have just recently entered my native Seattle, so I will probably spend the next couple hours twitching and recovering from the intense climate change. ^_^;;
I sent Mervyn an e-mail for an extension to January 7th, since that's the length of my remaining vacation (luckily for me!) -- is that too long of an extension? I'm not particularly certain what lengths of time are within the bounds of politeness. Hopefully, however, my chapter will be passingly funny, however long it takes. I will certainly be devoting the rest of my vacation to Kim Kap Hwan, and certain through GameFAQs for movelists.
And studiously playing NeoGeo ROMs to figure out what attacks look like. ^_^
And getting Slurpees. Surprisingly, the Slurpees in El Paso weren't all that great -- too much syrup. Maybe, here in Seattle, we just have the "naturally icy" flavor that makes it good. That or all the rain dilutes the syrup.
Anyway, Happy New Year, y'all.

Extensions are pretty much two days, standard. On the other hand, since there's nobody in the queue behind you*, I'm willing to make exceptions...provided the queue remains empty. If not, for preference, I'd bump you down a space.

Well, I kinda lost track of time what with the holidays and spending too much time roleplaying with my friends. Anyhow, I noticed Mervyn was back and my chapter wasn't in, so I decided that mayhaps I should submit it =P.

Here you go: *
Well, despite lugging my computer all the way up to my parents' place I got next to nothing productive done. I did, however, finally get the complete ending of Suikoden III, after playing all three of them back-to-back. That's enought angst to choke a cow right there. All in all, though, good break.
Congrats, Woof, on the extra alphabet soup after your name. That's always nice.
I have come to dread returning from long trips, because something has invariably gone wrong while I was away. This time the ceiling of my kitchen sprang a leak and soaked my floor. I wouldn't have known about it had my kitchen rug not still been sopping wet...after that, the water damage to the ceiling became much more noticeable. If the maintenance guy doesn't already know me by name, he certainly will by tomorrow morning.
New FAJ is posted. New NH and RECBT will go up tomorrow morning, because they weren't here last I checked five minutes ago and I'm dead tired.
If anyone felt like signing up, I would kiss that person on the lips.

That orochi guy's political party really made me laugh, even if the don't like the original video it references.
The awesome conclusion Fuuma and Whip came to. It points out what would happen, and I'm thinking 'that's not going to happen, that would be too ordinary' and then something funny happens instead! right on time! and I laugh!
And The Christmas Story scene was good fun for the whole family.

Both will be coming in as close to midnight as possible as combination of family dinners, my mother coming into town, a general lack of time and <strike>my own procrastination</strike> bad luck have fully sapped energy, time and everything else involved in writing.
They'll be in on time and they will both be short. Exceedingly short. I don't plan on skipping, though.

www.snoopycool.com: Koko wa Greenwood, Psychic Aura Academy (wai, breasts), and LOADS of Flame of Recca. Far beyond what the anime covered.
scanlation.leely.com: Hana Yori Dango, Fruits Basket, BxB Brothers ("B for Baka") and a few others. BxB features a bishounen dressed as a penguin for at least several of the first episodes.

MCP stands for "Microsoft Certified Professional." In addition to turning a Resume into Resume of Impressing Technical Supervisors +1, it's step towards earning an MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator) and an MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer), both of which are, so I've been told, certifications in high demand.

As part of the price of attending Microskills, the tests are paid for. However, in order to take a paid-for test, the school wants to make sure that the student is going to pass. So before taking a test, a student must complete the requisite lab work, pass the Transcender tests, review weak areas, do online study guides, pass a 10-question exam (80% or higher) presented by a lab guide and a few other things before a student can take the test.
Of course, a student can bypass all of that by paying for the test (and all subsequent tests) him/herself, but that is pricey, and why pay TWICE for anything, right?
And there are seven tests to pass for one to become MCSE certified. I've got one under my belt. If I focused completely on the tests, I could probably pass one every 3-4 weeks. However, I'll most likely be wasting study time on such frivolous things as job-hunting and earning my keep at the house where I'm staying. And if the Omaha contract EVER comes through, then my studies will be put on hold until I get back to San Diego.
So to make a short story long, the answer to your question is... well, the title of this verbose message. ^_^;;

Well, I've been offline for about three days now, but I've been meaning to post about the local anime and comic book convention I went to this Saturday. I wanted to give you guys an idea of how cosplaying is done here in the Philippines.
Anyway, this is also to give Mads and Signus some pictures of what happened. Both of these guys were aware that this was being held over here in Manila, but unfortunately weren't able to come. So, Mads, Siggy, here you go. Enjoy. ^_^
(Apologies if I didn't get pics of the photos of the local comic book artists and writers, guys. Suffice it to say, Pol Medina, Lyndon Gregorio, Arnold Arre, Marco Dimaano, the Culture Crash guys, the Ground: Zero guys, and even the guy who draws Shirley's Pets for Junior Inquirer were there. )

I wanna see the bad Mazinger Z! Anyhow, I think the Fighting Vipers character may be named Candy, and the Hunter X Hunter character is probably Pakunoda.
I think it's more of Geocities data transfer thing. I keep testing the html in my pc and it loads okay. ^_^;;; Apologies, but you'd just have to right-click and click on "Show Picture" to get the pics to load. ^^;;;
Yup, it was Pakunoda and I'm still not sure on Candy, but I'll take your word for it. ^^;

,,,But hey, we're dedicating this day (December 24) for some guy who was great if he actually existed, or the other jolly guy whose name is an anagram for "Satan". -_-
What the hell, it's not as if birthdays are special times for people. At least I got something out of it for free. :p
Anyway, in the spirit of the season, I bring you a screencap, with added captions below:
PUPA: What are you supposed to be, a reject from a bad SquareEnix game?"
JOHANN: You're the one to talk, Kaolla Su.
PUPA: I'M NOT A CHARACTER FROM LOVE HINA!
PEPE (offscreen): I told you this was a bad idea...
PUPA (whispering): Shut up, Keitaro...
The resemblance is uncanny. ^_-

There's no Iori/Leona connection in FAJ. Iori is living in a Hell that no mortal should ever know and Leona is currently pregnant with Chang's kid. Said kid has arrived from the future, all grown up.
Still, Servbot could work. Either him or Gon.

Hahaha! Very funny. And lots of Kim Kaphwan, the best character. I like what you did with Geese's followers, too. Though I still wonder where Interrupting Cow went. ^_^
If I may, just to clarify: Who are Clive and Elza hunting? Robert Garcia?
Oh, yeah, and what's General Blood from?
But yeah, anyway, awesome.

General Blood is Lawrence Blood from the Fatal Fury games. He's a Krauser flunky. Frankly, he, Robert, and Kyoko have nothing to do with one another, but do you have any idea how hard it is finding a female medical professional among fighting game characters?

the interrupting Cow made her swan song in Gavok's FAJ, defeating a powerful superhero with her impressive bulk, and was later reduced to gamma irradiated hamburger in return by the end.
seriously though, your guess is as good as mine

First- Merv, I don't know if you sent me a copy of your chapter to proof, or a notification that I've got NH to write, but I've gotten neither. I'm hoping that you just forgot, othewrise, my e-mail is fuxored. ;_;
Second- For the *second year in a row*, I've got the RECBT Christmas chapter. And, once again, I'm taking requests. Last year was... a strange Scrooge mix. Anyone have any idea for a theme? I'm fairly sure that A Christmas Carol has already been done, so try again ^_^

1.) It's a Wonderful Life (though I personally haven't seen the movie)
2.) How the Grinch stole Christmas (speaking of which, it's almost time to repost your Akuma story, 'Vok. ^_^)
3.) Rudolf the Red-nosed Reindeer (maybe a flashback scene about Kim saving Christmas as a child who was ridiculed for having big red feet? "Kaphwan, with your feet so strong, won't you kick some butt tonight?" :P)
4.) The Fourth Wiseman story (about the fourth wise man who didn't make it to Jesus' birth, but became closer to the lord as he helped others along the way. He only saw Jesus as he was being crucified.)
5.) Jingle All the Way (What if Kim was on a quest for the perfect gift? And Geese was after the same thing?)
Oh, and isn't the Scrooge thing already doing "A Christmas Carol"? ;)

..."A Christmas Story." It is basically about a kid (who is narrating as a grown-up) who only wanted a very specific B. B. gun for Christmas. However, his mom, teacher, and "Santa Claus" all tell him that he will shoot his eye out. It's a pretty funny movie. If nothing else, I wanna see Kyo and his college buddies playing the part of the disguntled department Santa and elves (from the same movie).
