Attendance was quite good. Mewata was packed for Kickers matches and was a madhouse when they won the whole shootin' match in 1987.
If memory serves, it was another case of poor ownership letting a Calgary soccer franchise slip through their fingers. The team (now called the Strikers) vanished after the '89 season.
Travel costs may have played a major factor. There were no low-cost airlines, like Westjet, around at the time.
The league folded in '92.
