Response to well try this the other way round.

The sensor in the t-stat housing is a 2-wire device with a white (at least on my '79X (with the '84 engine)) Bosch connector on it. The sensor in the head I'm referring to is part number 0280130214 (or apparently in Bosch parlance, 0-280-130-214) and it's listed as a Thermo-Time Switch. I hope this clears it up a bit....
