Okay, I can't diagnose it long distance but here is my guess. You have a bad head gasket that is leaking from the water jacket into the cylinder. It is leaking into one cylinder and thus when you start it you get the white smoke. Furthermore, you only run on three cylinders until you burn off the anti-freeze.
How about trying this; drive around until it's hot. Park it and let it cool off overnight. In the morning, pull the plugs. Get a good flashlight and look through the spark plug holes. Turn the motor over by hand until you can see the top of each piston and look for coolant. Yes, you will strain your neck and have to screw around endlessly bringing the pistons up to just the right spot that you can actually see the tops of them. Also, inspect the plugs for one that has white-ish deposits on it or one that looks different from the rest.
