Bothering me lately

When I finish reading a post and hit the back button, nothing happens. I get the little egg timer with my cursor, but it seems to take forever for the previous screen to appear, if it ever does. I don't usually wait that long. If I hit the back button again, before the first one is done, I am back to my home page, and out of this forum. Is this a fault of this forum, or does it come from my computer?
