Response to Questions...

Correct.

I used stainless gear clamps to hold it to the outer header tubes to keep it in place. To maintain the spacing I used 3/16" nuts and long 1/2" Pop Rivits.

The sheet alum. is only about .030" thick. Start out by cutting a section of sheet and try to force it beween the intake manifolds and header. Use a marker to indicate where it needs to be bent and cut.

Now just keep fitting and cutting and bending. I used two strips of wood clamped together with the sheet inside to make clean bend lines.

Once the bottom sheet was made, a second was traced and formed to be added on top and rivited into place.
