Dual cabs and vacuum accessories (pic)

Has anyone overcome the problem of operating the vacuum accessories on the mid 80's X's when running the dual carb setup? I'm reluctant to drill into the intake without conducting some research from my fellow X-heads.

Another problem is the vacuum advance. It's not a big issue as you just readjust the timing and run on mechanical advance alone, but it would be nice to have that work properly too.
