Just picked up an 86 x1/9

I am the proud new owner of an 86 x1/9! Picked it up in San Jose ca, and drove it down 101, to hw1. We had to make an emergency stop when the car began to overheat and without even knowing we stopped near the car event in Monterey, well the fiat must have known because it overheated and forced us to stop. But we had to get a move on it so we only got to see a few of the cars as they entered through the check point as we waited for the car to cool down a bit. After that It made the trip all the way down hw1, 101, and the 405 to Anaheim w/ a few stops to prevent it from having a chance to overheat, and some grandma slow driving.

The car itself is strong, and only overheats when held above 4 for long periods of time or on uphill climbs. I figure clean the cooling system and give the engine bay a good steam cleaning and it should stop overheating. Also the body needs paint, the clutch needs readjusting, and some of the gears stick or grind.

But after driving it around the last two days, I would say I bought one hell of a car!
