Forward thinking, well, it did take ten frekin years for me to finally accept it man...

but thank you for the complement
The main focus of any of my thinking on it really has been more philosophical than technical (this may be why visible progress on the tech element of the site has been so slow...
Ten years ago (almost) Xweb was born with me having ZERO experience at "care and feeding" of a forum and all that that entails, and at a snail's pace I evolved from there (even now some may question by how much or by what measure...but) Xweb 2.0 is being founded on the same spirit and principles as the original, BUT incorporates the background that this time I now am heading into this with almost ten years of the good, the bad, the ugly, the one-in-a-million, the train wreck unspeakable, the WHOLE ball of wax in "hindsight"(?) to draw from.
I have no desire or intent to "change" the basic simplicities or more pleasing elements or philosophy or "spirit" of what Xweb is to people, only just to evolve what we have here, to upgrade the underlying system to solve some long standing technical problems and drawbacks of V1, and to do so with minimal growing pains for all parties while maximizing the once-in-a-decade chance to see what we can "clean up" of "good old V1" and make as good as V1 would have been to start with if not for its own various inherent limitations...
