Response to Why the concern? This looks VERY fixable to me.
if possible.The block can be "decked" surfaced and all should be well with it. Smooth out the rough edges on the piston and it should be good to go.

Really, the damage is not that serious. This Uno Turbo engine is worth saving as few are still around these days.
