Ode to Xweb.

April 20 2009 at 4:47 PM

As we say goodbye to an old and faithful friend that has adjunctly occupied a part of our lives related to these joyful, frustrating, unique, quirky, reliable and ever-more addictive little cars that somehow slipped through the cracks of oppression into the light of day, let us savor all the times we had....oh thou child of Network 54 and Mac....the x-web.

The arguments, the threats, the misunderstandings, the good-will, the hearty repartee, the drunken rants, the righteous salvos, the mechanical genius, the utter astonishment, the transmission rebuilds, the racing reports, the odd pictures, the 'better ways to do it', the "sure, I've got an extra one, what's your address, I'll send it free." All this and endless more....that we have had with thee....oh thou Xweb.

And as we now flourish in the new avatar of all things X, the fire has not died.....nay.....it has grown stronger as the program has been taken to a higher level with much sweat and toil by it's founder, and users, and administrators, and behold, it is still thee....oh Xweb, that we know and love. A part must go, but the spirit remains.

We will always know thee....Xweb, and you will never leave us, for we will never leave you, and you are ever with us. Bless us as we carry on, for we bless you, and behold, the future holds a bounty of blessings.
