What do you guys think?

June 4 2008 at 4:59 PM

The specs are

Challenger
Sizes: 14x6 15, 23P
14x7 3p
PCD: Blank (can be drilled as PCD 98)
Offset: 3, 15, 23P
Colours: Charcoal
Weight: 6.7KG
Load Rating: 620

If I opt for the 14x6 with +15 offset, will there be enough clearance at the front?

Will 185/55-14 tires be ok for the front?

Thanks!
Vince

... cause the wheel pictured has 5 mounting holes ...

Or can they provide the same style of wheel 4 (moutning holes) x 98?

Else the wheel looks good - what's the color of the X?

thx

These wheels are manufactured in Australian

June 4 2008, 6:24 PM

by a company called Performance Alloys in Adelaide, South Australia.

http://www.performancewheels.com.au/alloywheels_classic.asp

They manufacture them with the correct 98PCD for X1/9's.

I have 2 sets of 13" rims on 2 of my X's with 185x60x13's. Both sets of rims had a similar problem. They were not centred on the hub and it took me over 2 years and many futile balances and alignments to discover this. The sterring wheel would shake at anything over modest speeds. Ultimately it was solved by manufacturing a simple plastic ring that sits on the hub and effectively centres the rim.

The 14's will rub on 185x60's or higher profile. They should be ok on a lower profile. Use the tirerack site to calculate the diameter required of 14's to match 185x60x13.

Good Luck

Is that 13" or 14" ?

Did you use any spacers on the X?

They look good!

Do you have to use centering rings?

I had a browse in the aussie performance website and they come in 13" x 5.5 too (but not sure about the offset)

Now I am very tempted, just waiting for the dealer to get back to me on the price...

Vince,

nice options!

I would go with

7x14 offset 23 mm front (if available), and

7x14 offset 3 mm rear

with 195/45-14 all around. That would be a real sharp setup and would definitely fit!

Check these pics: this is 195/45-14 on 7" front and 8" rear. (you don't need to lower your car this much
