I had my wisdom teeth out (I had 4 of them) two summers ago. After a couple days I healed up pretty quickly, and it didn't hurt too badly.
The worst part, for me anyway, was just the anesthesia and numbness. (My body system is apparently really "volital": any stuff I eat or put in me, like caffeine, drugs, alcohol, painkillers, even SUGAR, all have strong effects. If I drink a can of Coke, for example, I'll be really hyper for a while and then have a splitting headache for the rest of the day. If the dentist gives me nitrous oxide [aka laughing gas] I'll pass out. Etc. It's no fun.) The stuff they gave me made me SO disoriented and numb that when I left I couldn't really tell what was going on. All I knew was that I couldn't feel anything or walk straight, my mouth kept bleeding all over the place, and I just wanted to sleep but my mom wouldn't let me. ^_^; It felt awful, and I just sat there and cried. And then, of course, a couple of my guy friends came over to check on me, and they wouldn't let me hide my face in my hands even though I was such a mess because they wanted to tease me about having chipmunk cheeks. sulks Jerks.
ANYWAY, I ate lots of baby food. ^^ |
