They go into the mines... the wizard Gandalf dies...
They go to Lorien... Saruman(evil wizard) is creating very nasty orcs that can walk in daylight. He sends them after the fellowship(the group of nine that went to destroy the ring). They are rowing and rowing in their boats. They pass the Argonaths... Boromir(one of the two humans in the group) decides he wants the ring and tries to take it from Frodo(Elijah Wood). Frodo puts the ring on and runs. Frodo decides to leave the Fellowship. Boromir is killed. Frodo and Samwise take off by themselves. Gotta go.
