New Senshi

New senshi are great to write, but it's hard to come up with something original. For example, what are their powers/attacks like? Their looks/personalities, etc.? (Somethings have been done to death -- e.g. Sailor Sun) It's great fun to write, but a whole bunch of them is a lot of hard work, especially when you also have to invent a bad guy to fight them.

One highly recommended fic (by others, I have yet to read this one)is Jackie Chiang's "Elemental Senshi". I'm sure there's more fics of the type you're asking, but check out the ASMR messageboard, there's always people who know this stuff better. Um... also, check out Angus MacSpoon (I think I spelt his last name wrong), he's got this series called "Sailor Moon 4200".

As for the Anima-mates, I'm a bit confused about the planet Mau where Artemis and Luna came from. Were they the original Senshi? But (if I remember correctly, which I probably don't), they told the cat-looking anima-mate, that Mau was never supposed to have a Sailor Senshi. But this is from the MIXX/TokyoPop english version of the manga, so I'm not sure.

But, I agree, it would be an interesting plotline to talk about their backgrounds.
