remember when i was all bummed out because my hamster went to the big wheel in the sky?? well, my friend is a neuroscience major, and she had to raise a hamster, test its hormone levels, stick a shunt in its brain and kill it, and then perform an autopsy. when farfel died, she was like, "do you want me to do an autopsy?" i almost lost it.
