In 1989, this model was produced in a limited run of 2000 pieces to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing in 1969. This particular watch is 1169 out of 2000. Although I've had this watch in my personal collection for about 2 years, it didn't dawn on me until Chuck Maddox pointed out to me that this watch has an especially unique number. The 11 coincides w/ the Apollo mission number & of course 69 coincides w/ the year of the original moon landing.

The side of the case is engraved:

1169/2000 APOLLO 11 1969

The case back has the Speedmaster seahorse logo & the "Flight Qualified by NASA.....First Watch Worn on the Moon" inscription.

Dial is original & in mint condition, 97-98%. Luminescence on the hour markers & hands is very white. Luminescence is uniform in color on both the hands & dial. Movement is Omega caliber 861. I had this watch serviced when it first came into my possession approximately 2 years ago. Case is in near mint to mint condition, 95%+. Original full length bracelet is model # 1450. Clasp has Omega symbol & Speedmaster engraved on clasp. It is in excellent to near mint condition, 90-95%. Tachometer bezel insert is in "like new" condition. The bezel itself is in mint condition, free of any dings or dents. Crystal is in mint condition, without any scratches.

I had my watchmaker give the case & bracelet a MINIMAL detail. I say minimal because I did not want it to be overly buffed. I only wanted the hairline scratches to be gently removed while maintaining the integrity of the sharp edges of the case. I can't stand it when overzealous watchmakers buff so hard that they round of edges that were originally sharp.

As you will note from my pics, I sell watches, I'm not a photographer.

The reason I am selling this watch is because I have NEVER worn this watch & it just sits. Unfortunately, I do not have the box & papers for this watch. They did not come w/ the watch when I bought it.

I am offering this watch for $1400 + shipping. If you are not in the Chicago area & cannot look at the watch prior to purchasing, I offer a 3 day return privilege if you are not 100% happy with it. I'm always open to any viable trades.

If you have any questions, pls feel free to call or email me.
