  • JOEY MAXIM, YOU ALL REMEMBER HIM RIGHT?

    • Posted Jun 5, 2001 8:54 AM

Just wanted to let you all know if you haden't heard the news yet that Hall of Fame Ring Legend Joey Maxim passed away June 2, 2001. Joey was the Light Heavyweight Champion when there were only 8 champions total. He, in my opinion makes Roy Jones Jr. look like an asshole. He fought back when fighting was fighting...after suffering his first defeat he had a rematch in 21 days and kicked the guys ASS!

Check out our feature article on him on StraightJAB.com and you can also listen to our last interview with him a few years ago. He talks about his famous 14 round victory over Sugar Ray Robinson and much more. He was a very kind, generous person with an engaging personality and vigor.

Sadly, there are no more boxers like him and his peers... All we have today are a bunch of money-grubbing assholes who think that 22-0 is impressive. There are people retiring today with under 30 fights. No more 16 rounders...need I go on?

Anyway, we should all remember Joey Maxim and the example he set that was apparently too grand to follow for todays self-absorbed, greedy sniffling asswipes.

      Just My Opinion.

      OUT
