Response to Coleman pot-type oil stove 'carburator'

You said your stove works fine when its above freezing. Here on the west coast I have found many of the problems that we have encountered have been a little water in the fuel line. a low secton of the pipe will contain just a few drops of water, in warmer days the fuel will bybass the water, (The water is more dense and will sink down to the bottom or low spot)and when the weather freezes it will freeze and expand slowing or stopping your fuel flow. a good way to fix this or to find out if this is the problem is to wrap the exposed fuel line outside and the filter with a water line heater that only turns on when cold. you could also remove the cover on the carb. and see if the fuel is up to the "oil level" mark on the inside of the carb.
