You should see a small cup below the burner. You can either place a small amount of fuel in the cup to heat the burner orifice or use a small amount of a paste fire starter (thats what I do). It works better in wet or windy conditions. Once heated you then open the burner valve as it will "self pressurize" and light it....burns like a little jet engine.
