I have to find out more about that contraption.
But as for cases...are!!! This is the thing about watchmaking. The Vianney cases are not fabricated at Janvier, but at one of the very best case makers. It is much too elaborate and delicate and complex design to make in house for such small amounts.
Either way, in house or out, the case is horrendously costly!!!
Examination will reveal that the cases have an extraordinary amount of work and detail unlike any other case works. I find this historically significant..as in the past, many pocket watches were beautifully decorated on the case. We cannot do this too much for a wristwatch. But small and fine detailing is still an art that has not seen a great deal of evolution here. Except at Vianney.
Happy New Year!
