The tools for the tampon applicator have arrived...and these were painfully made earlier this year.

The paint can now be applied by Volker to the small seconds and the power reserve indicator...a difficult task. See the Ulysse Nardin post on the UN forum, and later how some dials are made there.









For those waiting for the first series, the excitement can be felt.

The workmanship has been astounding !!!

Volker is a true gem. I cannot think of anyone doing the case and dials, making his own tampon stamps, making the indexes, painting the chromium onto the dials, cutting the case, cutting the lugs...

To give perspective, click to the Ulysse Nardin Forum and see 3,4,5,and 6 to imagine the team of watchmakers and dialmakers creating a watch...

He certainly cannot blame anyone but himself if it is not just right! He takes hand-made to a new level.

...is that not only he is making basically everything himself, down to the latches of the wood presentation box, but he even built parts of the machines he uses to make his watches!!! Simply amazing...

But these wonderful pictures and reports make it harder and harder to wait!
Maybe for Xmas this year I will have a wonderful present...?
