From De Bethune press release:

Once again De Bethune confirms itself as leading manufacture of timepieces which represent pinnacle of creativity and technological advancement in the field of high-end horology.

The inventions, patents, original and unique designs reveal a profound horological knowledge which allows the creation of extraordinary timepieces. From a marine chronometer to a grand complication, jewellery watches “par excellence” with unique mechanics to our new self-winding sophisticated sport watch.

Just to mention one of our latest creations, a watch produced in two versions, one with a power reserve indicator and the other with GMT, day/night indicator and power reserve indicator. Both of the our two new models utilize newly developed advanced technological solutions to measure time. Advancements in horology like the titanium/platinum balance-wheel, patented De Bethune spiral with terminal plane curve (the first one patented in the world, n.d.r.), and the “triple parachute bridge” (a shock-absorber system with a titanium bridge that has allowed De Bethune to produce the lightest isochronic oscillating system in the world).

The movement also contains a self-adjusting double-barrel, time’s gold wheels (unique manufacture in the world for a series product), a totally new and innovative titanium/platinum rotor assembled on ceramic micro balls, able to generate power for more than 80 hours of reserve in only three hours, 47 jewels, 28,800 vph, and is 500 meters water-resistant. The dial is made from titanium, worked at a very high speeds chiseled to a thickness of 1/15 of a millimeter; the dial also features a “micro light” polish. There are three different levels of titanium and steel hands having a unique design and are hand made in-house by our factory.

De Bethune will soon show the latest creation of the Maxichrono. The new version of the Maxichrono will feature our silicon balance-wheel system. De Bethune was the first to successfully manufacture and patent the silicon balance. This new balance wheel system will have a VPH of 72,000. The movement also features five hands generating from one axial. The case has a new system of titanium “floating lugs”.

why oh why would they actually write POWER on the dial??? Like some sportsdrink. Strictly for fatally insecure macho men. 45mm is getting ridiculous. That said, awesome design. Awesome dial.

Like the simply INCREDIBLE Maxichrono...

this watch has the machismo and heavy, dense look which it uses to contrast with the super light weight materials used within.

Note the way the hour hand is made to appear as if it is held in place by the chapter ring!

Certainly a watch that deserves more than a place in the upper edge of the high end!
