Warning: More Attacks , Use of Weapons of Mass Destruction, Possible
NewsMax.com
Tuesday, September 11, 2001
NewsMax's national security expert, Col. Stanislav Lunev, is traveling abroad.
The highest-ranking military officer ever to defect from Russia, Col. Lunev has served as a consultant to the CIA, the FBI and the Defense Intelligence Agency

He called NewsMax and gave the following analysis:

1. Last year, Col. Lunev wrote that the U.S. had been the main target of terrorist groups and the nations that support them. The actions today against the U.S. should not be surprising.

2. The successful attack today by this well organized terrorist group is the result of almost ten years of a deterioration of America's national security appaparatus -- including the emascualtion of American intelligence gathering capabilities.

3. American officials and experts have been saying the threat of an attack like this or worse has been a real one. Little or nothing was done, though many knew the threat was real.

4. What countries are involved is difficult to say. It is Col. Lunev's belief that more than one country was involved in this operation -- and perhaps several.

5. Do not forget that Russia remains the number one sponsor of training for terrorist nations. You will find the countries behind this will have very close ties to Russia's military and intelligence agencies.

6. Simple logic cannot be applied to the behavior of these terrorist groups and states. I believe that the terrorist acts conducted could be the first wave of more significant acts that could take place -- even in the next few days. Perhaps for the next 3 days there will be quiet, and then another strike, perhaps more massive than those already delivered.

7. These people are not stupid. They'll use all weapons available to them. Do not underestimate the brutality of these people. The next time, even in the next several days, do not exclude the possibilty they will use chemical, nuclear and biological weapons against America.

I'm in full agreement with all the points made in the referenced article. This was an amazingly well-planned and executed military operation.

Right now I think our interests are best served by taking a pro-active an defensive posture than a reactive attempt at retribution. Someone is playing chess with the citizens of a country that seems all to willing to continue playing checkers.

Hi chem11, I say "scorch earth" and got picked on tonite at some forums as some people think that a more
judicial one on one way is best.

They are calling up reservists, and ramping up the
military. I never thought the pentagon would ever
sustain any damage, and look!

If we don't kick butt then this country will just go
weak, we need to send a message to any foreign
terrorist types, it will not be tolerated, and you
mess with us, we'll SCORCH EARTH!!

War, bombs, etc. I know hurt and kill the innocent ones, the children, the elderly, but if we don't
do something, then it will invade our country more
often and we will be like a third world country.

If you hear of the Navy calling up reservists in the
next 2 weeks, will you let me know?

Chem11, brace for some bad economic times, when the
stock markets open again, there will be a big sell off
of stocks. Already one airline company went belly up
on this "no flying" and 1,700 people lost there job.

I will have to fly very far away in the near future, and I'm thinking (LOL) maybe I'll take little commuter
flights, and hop in to every hub from the west coast to the east coast? I'd like a ride on a military plane
just for the safety issues, but moi? I don't think they'd let me hitch a ride. Absolutely no planes flying in and out of Moffatt Field in Mt. View, calif.
which is wierd, it's too eerie quiet. Even medi-flight
helicopters having to get FAA permission to take off and land, and then they can only land at airports and
not at the scene of an accident.

Chem11, what would your solution be? Like mine? Go
kick butt and knock out all the infrastructures? Hey
yesterday they had Hetch-hetchy water supply for the
bay area under guard!! If we don't send a strong
pounding message DO NOT MESS WITH THE USA then
we must have sold out to the NWO. How is Enigma doing?
How are you doing chem11? Here is a nice way to
brighten up some peoples e-mail boxes. Mine's lonely

I believe that we should re-evaluate our foreign policy and quit playing these Arab nations off each other in order to de-stabilize the region. We have engaged in tri-lateral diplomacy in an effort to keep the Arab world weak and to protect our national interests in that part of the world, namely OIL.

We have the technology to end our dependance on foreign oil and divorce ourselves entirely from conflict in that region.

Simultaneouusly, we should re-structure our military so that it can adequately perform the mission for which it was originally designed; to protect our homeland and it's citizens from attack.

Thirdly we should re-focus our intelligence resources on HUMINT and away from COMINT.

Of course, none of this is going to happen any time soon. When the people that run this country have a vested financial interest in fossil fuel, the last thing they are going to do is push alternative energy.

And when the people running this country have a vested financial interest in developing new and better ways of killing other human beings, they are unlikely to promote peace.

The same goes for communications technology. I suppose if we make sure that our enemies are provided with imacs and broadband connections, COMINT will be more useful in real world INTEL. As of now, all we've been able to do is intercept a couple cell phone calls that were made after the attack took place.

Anyway, I agree with you about the airlines heading for rough times. I'd walk before I would fly and increased security means increased cost. Flyers are going to face a lot more delays and a lot more inconvenience and wind up paying for the priviledge.

The economy? Well that's nothing a protracted and bloody war won't help fix. And that is exactly where we appear to be heading....
