This is a very rare, complicated watch indeed. We just dont often see 9 hands plus a pretty starfield moonphase on a dial.
This watch is number 13 of 50. From one side of the highly polished 18 karat red gold case to the other is 38.05mm, from the top of the anti-reflective coated sapphire crystal to the back of the anti-reflective coated sapphire display back is 13.91mm. The case is hallmarked on all four lug backs, and the watch comes with an 18 karat red gold Blancpain deployant clasp and a matching almost-new Blancpain rubberized strap.
The military style dial is black as night and. Note the three dimensional levels shown in the last photograph. The super Luminova in the markers and arabics glows very bright.
This watch houses the Frederic Piguet F585 Flyback movement, meaning that when the chronograph is running, it is not necessary to STOP, RESET and START the chronograph, you can push the RESET button while the chronograph is running, and it will "fly back" to zero, reset all the counters, and immediately restart the chronograph.
In addition to the Flyback, a rarity in it's own right, this watch houses a Perpetual Calendar, meaning it tracks the months lengths and knows that every leap year, it should add a 29th day to February. It has 35 jewels, a 40-hour power reserve, and 399 separate components. It is a mechanical marvel, a piece of art, made to sit on your wrist!
The case has screw down chronograph pushers and a screw down crown, making it waterproof to 80 meters. There are four correctors, 2 on each side for setting the day, date, month and moonphase.
It comes with all books, papers and warranty card, plus the gorgeous Blancpain inlaid wooden presentation box.
This edition is long sold out, and the list price of a comparable non-limited watch is US$31,500. My piece is near mint, showing only some faint hairline scratches and strap wear. This watch, long sold out in a limited edition is offered at below dealer cost, more than 55% off retail, US$13,950. Prefer CONUS, although Worldwide shipping either through UPS fully insured through Parcel Pro is available at extra cost.
Wire transfer only, no trades please (Im giving this up for another perpetual).
