Hi Ed,
Thomas answered most of the questions I will try to shed some light on what I like/dislike in this watch.
I have the rose gold/ black dial version, I can't really say that the day/date subdial at 6 is really legible but then again apart from perpetuals with indications through appertures on the dial most perpetuals are a bit busy.
I have seen the YG version but I don't like AP's yellow gold (too yellow if you se what I mean

), the PG model has too many colors in my opinion: PG case, black dial, green luminous material on hours/minutes hands, white hands). I think the nicest combination is white gold/grey dial.
However AP (at least here in France) refuses to make any dial changes between the models which I find a bit disappointing when purchasing a watch at this price range.
However, there are 2 main criteria which makes this watch a keeper for me:
- the Jules Audemars case which (I keep repeating myself) is absolutely gorgeous and perfect!!
- the whole genious in the mechanisme of the watch: no other wrist watch gives you a perpetual calendar, equation of time and hours of sun set and sunrise calibrated exactly for your city of choice.
Finally I find the leap year indication quite fun!
Hope this helps
