She accompanied me when I first tried on the OS CC (this was after my RO Chrono craze) and although she didn't like the design at first, it slowly but surely started to grow on her. While I was waiting for my CC (which you know took quite a long while) she started to look elsewhere to try other alternatives, most notably the PP Twenty-4, which is a very fine timepiece IMO, and forgot about the AP. Then, last weekend, after my trip from Singapore on Saturday, I showed her the OS CC and in a period of 5 minutes it was Offshore time again.
She loves AP, but not because she's knowledgable, can't be cause she's not. I think it's because I'm so AP Oak crazy that it's rubbing off on her as well. Then again, it's not so hard to love AP is it? From her point of view, the Lady Oaks have the most beautiful cases and the bracelet works are superb ... so much like my CC, well that's her opinion anway
While we were at the watch fair at Chidlom, I jumped at the chance to get her to try one on, and it was perfect - fit & finish - and I could tell that she felt the same, she just stood there looking at the watch speechless ... another AP fan in the making.
