Response to Just so its clear, there is a reason AP didn't release the RO Offshore with a display back

your points are very well stated and much appreciated.
You wrote what I planned on writing in my final report
You are 100% correct - the very thin metal plate that forms part
of the soft iron cage needs to be removed. While in theory this will diminish the
anti magnetic properties of the watch - in should have NO effect whatsoever on me,
at least based on 'my' wearing habits. I have only one anti magnetic watch (BALL - purchased just a few
months ago). Besides that, I have worn finer mechanical watches for close to a decade and my lifestyle
or work simply do not expose me to such environments.

After all - AP makes ROO JPM with exhibition back and no soft iron backing.
I doubt any JPM owners magnetized their watches.
I am not doing anything revolutionary here. Ya' know - once I spend a good buck on a watch that has a decent
caliber - I just HAVE to see it. I am like a little kid...I actually like to look at those things

You are spot on with your analogy of car performance parts. I have tinkered with my Bavarian horses
since 1994 and the only 'meaningful upgrades' to all my BMWs were AC Schnitzer or Dinan. The
main reason is their 'over-engineering' mentality and approval by the manufacturer.
My attitude was always to upgrade my car with 'top notch' parts or not at all.

This car however, I did not have to modify as much as my previous e36 rides

I guess subconsciously I took the same approach here. What you guys are looking at is a results
of 'many' rejects. As I said - the part will be still thoroughly tested and the pressure test HAS TO
exceed OEM specifications. Once I find out that the fit and finish are up to par - I could still
tweak it out cosmetically (for example - similar to RB II or JPM ridges in the back etc.)
But that remains to be seen...perfect fit and finish are my ultimate goals - anti magnetism be damned

Glad you like the project - will keep you guys updated.
