Can someone explain to me the this: "though the military background of the Maiale and Italian navy men"? I know this is a wrong forum and I also always liked Panerais and had one from the first year of production. But my ownership of the Panerai brand watches was based on the product. Everytime people mention rich military history of Panerai that makes me feel uneasy. Wasn't Italy fighting on the side of Germany and Hitler? This Cartier/Retchimond marketing compain with rich Panerai military history is very questionable to me. Who they were fighting for and what ships were they sinking wearing Panerai watches?
Mercedes Benz corporation did everything they could to separate themselfs from they Nazi past and try very hard no to be associated WWII in any way. Same as many other big German companies. Why Panerai is so proud of their past? |
