In the Red Corner, defending 2 time K-1 World Max Champion....Kobayashi Masato!

ThePuristS were given a special viewing of one of the first production Royal Oak Offshore Masato LE's available for delivery at the Audemars Piguet Ginza Boutique. Special thanks to Mr. Go Mugino, Representative Director & CEO of Audemars Piguet Japan, and his courteous staff for welcoming us to the boutique and giving us a private tour.
Thank you for the video Ed.
So, I am guessing that the Masato offshore is Japan boutique only?
My hand is getting itchy since the first time I saw the press release of Masato ROO.
Two weeks ago Madrid Boutique had an example of the Masato, and I believe it was for sale.
My understanding is that the Boutiques are generally able to trade Boutique-only issues among themselves and that they sometimes go to this added expense and trouble on behalf of their better customers.
I actually love the number 3 with diamond, but not so much on the number 14, even though it is his wife lucky number.
Aside from that, I LOVE the look of the dial. The combination of black and red give the watch a very strong and masculine look.
I think the hornback red stitches is probably the best for Masato ROO, since the color matches with the dial.
As for the white rubber (judging from the video), I don't think that the watch can pull it off.
But maybe it looks good in flesh, who knows...
I agree with you on the dial. The number 3 with diamond was executed very nicely. It was similar to the Taipei 101 being not too flashy. IMO, the placement of the number 14 is a bit odd regardless of it being his wife's favorite number.
The red center tapisserie dial looks great and does give it a more prominent and strong look. I was in Las Vegas this past weekend and was able to handle one of the ROO Las Vegas LE, and after comparing the two I prefer the Masato dial.
I think that a red rubber strap would have been awesome instead of the white.
The best photos around were published previously in this forum and on PuristsPro by ED-209 and by Anthony Tsai. Search both sites on "Masato" and you should find them.

I recently went to Tokyo & passed by AP boutique in Ginza

and I saw ROO Masato in the front window. I didn't really look at it closer but there it was.
I was in shorts and sneakers, didn't have guts to come in! LOL
