The shot was taken "quick and dirty" with the Leica point and shoot - a great camera (and lens) but the wide angle distortion is pretty severe, its biggest weakness.

The markers are a great example of detail and complexity - they are not just high polished; they are not only sloped; they are actually shaped, even though they are so small, to have a three dimensional pyramidal shape (faceted) so they catch the light in even more intriguing ways than just a plain flat surface, even if tilted.
