| Hi,
I wonder if any of my fellow Purists have had any experience with US customs procedures and duties when returning to the US with a newly purchased watch. Because the cost for a watch such as an Audemars or Panerai far exceed the allowable duty free amount, will I need a customs broker to clear the watch or can I clear it then and there at the airport? I have looked at the tariff book and I'm still not sure of the rate of duty I will be paying. That duty amount will play an important part in my decision to purchase an expensive watch. Any information will be greatly appreciated. |

Hi Howard,
I don't have much experience with US customs procedures and duties for bringing in watches, but perhaps you can speak with your AD where you are purchasing your watch and hopefully they have assisted other clients before with this situation.
Good luck.
