I know people are gushing in their enthusiasm. But really, with high speed CAD systems to aid in the design what is so unique about this watch?. Didn't PP do the Graves watch 73 years ago using completely MANUAL DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION??? Yes, the whole watch was bigger, but I would expect that with computer design and newer techniques that many complications could be squeezed into a 47mm case. This takes nothing away from the watch, it's great ... but it really is built to showcase the 250th anniversary of VC and therefore will be one of the show pieces in the Antiquorum auction coming up this year. In other words it is a piece of advertising that can be strapped onto the owner's wrist.
There is a lot of talent there, but the reason for it's existence is MARKETING. Nothing wrong with that to a degree .... but sometimes it can be taken to extremes. Would VC have taken this project on if a wealthy client had walked into VC back in 2000 and asked for this watch to be made IN SECRET, and never allowing VC to publicize anything about the watch? The answer would be NYET !
Just my humble, jaded opinion of the state of the industry now.
