in the context of consumer (mis) use of repeaters, many are incorporating indicators to show when the repeater strike train is charged and engaged, to avoid damage.

Thus, showing the power reserve on a "single charge" repeater design like dual purpose slide activated or pusher/plunger activated repeaters tells the user not to activate it again until it is "safe" to do so.
