Dear enthusiasts and GP fans,

i´d like to present something different and explain the reason to do so:
Girard-Perregaux is a true manufacture and in the sense of the word ("hand made"), manual labour is a strong part of what happens in the factory and how watches are born.
That´s my personal impression and after having seen the facilities, i appreciate the skills and craftmanship that goes into every GP timepiece even more. And i appreciate the work by those who do it; it was a most stunning experience to see how a GP 3200, a Foudroyante and a Three Gold Bridges movement is created, tweaked and assembled by highly skilled hands of passionate watchmakers.

As a picture says more than 1.000 words, i do hope this pictorial in appreciation of the hand work at GP does say more than many pages of text. I´m very impressed by the things i´ve seen and i do hope you will enjoy some insights in the production and the people who create our beloved treasures.

There are several very large pictures ahead, so depending on your internet connection it may take a while for all pictures to load; i do hope you will find it worth a wait.

So please feel invited to follow me through a pictured journey and have a look over the shoulder of some watchmakers at Manufacture Girard-Perregaux:

At some later point explanations will follow here (respectively in an upcoming article) what actually can be seen there, what these artists are doing and why many things are different at Girard-Perregaux.

I´d like to close with my greetings to the watchmakers at Girard-Perregaux; i certainly had a most wonderful time with you and appreciate the chance to look over your shoulders as well as to listen to your explanations and remarks. Be sure i have the highest respect for your skills and passion!

Greetings from germany,

Peter
