Girard-Perregaux pour President Ref# 8030

Mini review: I love it!

The dial is a beautiful cream color and all the printing on the dial is impeccable. The second hand is nicely blued and it has my favorite style hour and minute hands. The applied rose gold Arabic numbers are excellently done. I love applied Arabic’s!
38 X 12.2mm, although it wears a little smaller to me. I think that’s because of the wide bezel and the tall overall case. There is a lot of space between the dial and the bottom of the crystal. The tall sides tend to cast a shadow on the dial in some lighting conditions but that doesn’t detract from its overall beauty to me.
GP 2200 movement, WR 3ATM, 28.8, 27 jewels.

This is one beautiful watch!

Hi Mel,

congrats!
That´s a beauty!
A timeless, classic look and a wonderful size. Massive without being too large, elegant and dressy without being smallish. One of my favorite pieces of 10 years "Pour Ferrari"!

No wonder GP makes use of this case for tourbillons only meanwhile...

Nice catch!
How does it look like on your wrist?

Greetings from germany,

Peter

Thanks Peter.

Yes, I feel it's a wonderfully classic design and the case is well built. A nice chunk of metal with enough heft to let you know it a "real" watch
It looks great on my wrist but I've never been able to take a decent wrist shot.

Hi Mel,

i agree in that the 80300 is very real and comes with a nice presence on the wrist!
It´s still not obtrusive or wears like a brick, which makes it a great daily wearer.

Actually i know such a piece does cause sleepless nights ocassionally

Enjoy!

Greetings,

Peter

Any idea of where I could find one in SS?

Also, did they make one with a black dial?

find one. Mine is pre-owned and only the second one I've seen for sale in the last year or so.
I don't believe it came in any dial color except the cream for the rose gold and from MSandlers photos of his ss model, it looke like the ss model has a whit dial.

G'Day,

both the 80250 (central second) and 80300 (subsecond) are a little recent, so it may take some time to find one.

In terms of variations made, there are in fact some:
Both models were available with cases in PG, YG (not sure about WG), steel and Titanium. Available dials included a glossy black, creme white, yellow, burgundy red and even a limited number of carbon dials!

Greetings from germany,

Peter
