I have been seriously thinking about getting the LUC Sport, and, aside from what I have seen, know very little about the piece. The movement appears, like all of the LUC timepieces, to be top notch in every respect aesthetically (resembling Patek Philippe, Lange, etc. in its appearance). But I know very little about its performance. I have read mixed reviews on other websites, and though I might ask some of the experts here.

Guy,
Here is a list of old lnks and threads to plough through about LUC Sport 2000 and LUC movements in general. I hope other LUC Sport owners can provide personal experiences as well.
I have had a L.U.C sport, blue dial, for a few months now and have had no problems with it. It is beautiful, unusual, extremely legible, fantastic movement to behold from the display back and is a great timekeeper. I have read on this forum about problems such as the date not changing but that has not happened to me except one evening when the date had not changed till 10 past midnight and when I tapped the case lightly it changed and has functioned perfectly since. There is the issue of the minute hand jumping when you push in the crown after setting the time but I can live with it and also know from this forum that Chopard fixes this whenever the watch goes for a service. Comes in a great presentation box and with two straps, rubber and leather. Hope this helps and you enjoy your watch.
I bought the one with the white dial. Sporty and can be elegent when you change to the leather strap. Nice understated watch(not many people will recognise it)with a beautiful & well finished movement. I love especially the mini rotor. Best to see it in person before you decide.
On July 13th I posted here my experience with my LUC sport and stated that I had had no problems. Well all that has changed as of last night when I noticed that the watch had stopped while on my wrist. I tapped it a couple of times and it started and was fine until the next afternoon when it stopped again. Now it is six in the evening and between 2 p.m. and now it has stopped on four to five occassions. I noticed that the rotor, which in this movement does not (and did not until now) rotate smoothly and has a jerky motion has now started to spin as if there is no tomorrow. I do not know what that means but I suspect this is where the problem lies. Any thoughts on what could be wrong and what to do will be most appreciated. I am thankfully still under warranty. Thank you and best regards.
