So I stopped in the Chopard boutique at the Place Vendome while I was recently in Paris, and noticed that the newest watches have a new style of deployant. It is a single fold, kinda like the Blancpain/new Omega style, but more massive. Sadly I did not think to take a picture, but I'd say that the staff were very nice, to a French-butchering, non-buying customer

I think that the design isn't new

Aaron, if you referring to the buckle pictured the design is actually not new. Chopard offered that kind of buckles with their gold watches for the last couple of years. Starting with the Steel Wings Chopard started adopting the same design for their SS buckles. I am not a big fan of deployants in general, but the one from Chopard is very comfortable (at least on my wrist). The design is quite unusual. As you can see the free end of the strap goes under the buckle. In order to mount the strap the part of the buckle which imitates the tang must be taken apart which isn't easy. If bought separately it is very expensive. I believe that the current retail in US for the gold one approaches $3000 (I may be wrong though)

That is the exact design...

Although one of the ones I saw had a different endy-piece. Looking on the picture, it is almost exactly the same mechanism as the BP/new Omega style
