Personally, I was very ignorant of Chopard before 2006.
Today, I would say that like Harry Winston, the company had to weave a way out of, and yet retain their strenght as a jewelry firm.
The GREATEST forte is their expertise with metal. That transaltes into case works. In fact, their skills and software with handling metals in making jewelry, gives them a big edge in case design and even the actual case finish..whcih is very obvious on the products...even more on the LUC.
The dial work and detail is the most impressive I have seen, comparing well with some AHCI makers of the highest repute.
To top that, the man, KFS, has great taste and is a real life watch person, not an implant from the automobile industry that is "just doing his job".
This makes the most difference to the vision of LUC.
