Did the earlier versions of 3.96 versions of the LUC movement have some problems with the date change? The friend of mine just got one and the date changes half way sometimes. I remember when I sent my 1.96 and LUC Sport couple of years ago for routine service there was a mentioning of the "date problem corrected at no charge". There is nothing in the service invoice though.

1.96 and 3.96 share the same basic design. Finishing standards are different and 1.96 had the Geneva Seal. Have not heard much about 3.96 problems though.

Even when the problem existed, only very proportions of units were affected. All LUC automatic movements have the silent rectification (even if not affected) at regular servicing, without extra charge. More reason to send those LUC for regular servicing
