It actually seems as if they are A.W.O.L., after having been down and out for 20 days with no situation update notices or estimates on how long the site will remain on lock down status; but given how frustratig it can be to deal with internet spamming attacks, I can't say that I blame Jason and the staff for letting it sit dormant for a while.
It really is a shame that it only takes one or two arse holes, not playing nice with all of the others in a community, to really screw things up for the larger majority of persons who are minding their P's & Q's (I'm personally minding a Quart of Mt. Dew this morning).
Normally, I would rant about such things on my LJ journal, but seeing that this one is specifically related to my hair-fetish interests outside of my own daily goings on, I decided to plant it here on my own nearly unused message board. Better chance that those who would actually care, or be concerned in this matter, would find it her than on my LJ or MySpace.
.... Sooo..., I guess that one of the most frustrating aspects of this whole "Black Out" scenario (outside of not being able to get onto the site to interact with friends and to post new material) is that fact that I have no real facts and understanding of what instigated the lock down. I know that a disgruntled person (or persons) began some kind of spam or flame war...,
but who?
why?
who were they attacking?
Knowing those facts would most likely not result in anything that I could do to assist in whatever situation has developed, but knowing would at least aleviate the frustration of NOT Knowing what is really going on.
Am I way off base here, or has anyone else out there been wondering and thinking the same thing?
Like I said, I'm just venting.
UPDATE EDIT:
I just stopped by the LTAH site for the first time in a couple of days, and noticed the following announcement - - -
"12/23/07: This forum is closed until further notice. We are working on formulating a new plan that will protect this site from the hostile harassment and trouble being caused by a member of the hair community. Hopefully we can reopen shortly after the first of the new year.
Before we reopen the forum again, we need your help. We are looking for members who want to volunteer to become moderators for this forum. Members who are interested need to be able to communicate well with others and have a very good knowledge of the hair community. Also, if any of the long time, major contributors to this forum are interested in becoming part of the LTAH Staff, please let us know. Those interested can contact us at ltahforums@yahoo.com.
We want to thank all of the people who have showed their support for this site and have emailed us during this downtime. We also want to wish all hair fans a happy holiday season, Merry Christmas and very Happy New Year!
LTAH Forums "
I guess that at least answers a few questions that were running through my mind.
