I AM POSTING AN ANSWER TO YOUR NOTE UNDER "WHAT ARE YOUUU DOING" BECAUSE IT TAKES MY COMPUTER ABOUT SIX WEEKS TO LOAD THAT THREAD. YOU CAN BET THAT I WILL BE AT THE NEXT DVSF WITH BELLS ON. MOST PROBABLY WITH THE GT40 AND WHATEVER COBRA THAT I HAVE AT THE TIME. WHO KNOWS, MAYBE AN ULTIMA GTR INSTEAD.

KEITH'S CAR LOST THE POSITRACK UNIT IN OHIO,,,PROBABLY DUE TO AN OVERSIZED CLUTCH PLATE INSTALLED BY THE BUILDER. ALL IS FINE NOW. OIL PRESSURE WAS CAUSED BY A DEFFECTIVE SENDER AND A CRACKED AN FITTING ON THE TOP OF THE REMOTE FILTER PLATE WHICH SPRAYED OIL ONTO THE PULL FAN, THEREBY SENDING IT ALL OVER THE FRONT OF THE MOTOR, SIMILATING A FRONT SEAL LEAK.

ALL IS FINE NOW AND THE CAR COMES BACK FROM THE MOTOR BUILDER AFTER WE DOWNSIZE FROM THE 850 HOLLEY TO THE NEW 750HP SERIES HOLLEY. WE SHOULD SEE ABOUT 20HP GAIN FROM THIS MOVE. WE ARE ALSO SPACING THE EXPANSION TANK ABOUT AN INCH FURTHER AWAY FROM THE DISTRIBUTOR BECAUSE WE THINK WE A GETTING A "BLEED" DUE TO ITS PROXIMITY TO THE DISTRIBUTOR CAP.

GLAD YOU AND MIKE MADE IT HOME OKAY. WE LEFT MONDAY MORNING AND WENT UP TOWARD CLEVELAND WHERE KEITH LOKKED AT AND BOUGHT A 91ZR1 WITH A 475HP LINGENFELTER WITH 6,800 MILES. NICE CAR EVEN THOUGH ITS A VETTE. WE THEN WENT BACK TO ED'S SHOP AND I LOADED AS MUCH OF THE NEW KIT AS I COULD INTO THE BACK OF THE TRUCK, THEN HEADED HOME. GOT BACK HERE AT 3:30 TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND DROPPED OFF KEITH'S COBRA AT THE ENGINE BUILDERS.

BY THE WAY MY NEW WEB SITE WILL BE UP SOON AND THERE WILL BE PLENTY OF PICS ON THE SABRE BUILD. THE MOTOR SHOULD GO IN NEXT WEEK.

TELL MIKE I SAID "HOWDY".

TALK TO YOU SOON
JAY

Jay,
I'm glad everything worked out for you and Kieth. It seems that all these cars have those type of problems when they first come to life.I'm anxious to see your GT40 build. If you send them to Ron Earp he will put them on this site at the GT40 Build section. That way
all that visit here can see it as well.
When I was talking to kieth he seemed to really have a thing for the ZR1. So I was sure he would buy that car if it was a nice one. I'm glad to see someone like him enjoying himself with these cars. I hope he makes it to the fling again as well ,he's a fun guy to talk to. That Ultima would be an awsome car to show at the Fling! Those things kick ass on an autocross track.

Hershal

HERSHAL, ARE THERE ANY ULTIMA GTR'S NEAR YOU OR DO YOU KNOW ANYONE THAT HAS ONE. THE ONLY ONE WE KNOW IS IN THE NORTHEAST AND YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I HATE THAT AREA.

BY THE WAY THE ZR1 IS BEING DELIVERED WITH THE KIT I WON ON MONDAY. OH GOODY! TEST DRIVE ON A LINGENFELTER 475!!! WONDER IF I CAN BREAK THAT ONE AS WELL, HEHEHE.

The ZR1 I bought new in 1990 was a real joy to drive. Very forgiving to people like me that are not nicknamed "Mario". This car has 100 more horsepower so it will be a blast. With the Cobra to drive on perfect days and the ZR1 to drive on other days, I'd say I about got it covered.

I enjoyed meeting you and Mike also. You guys had some mighty big Kahunas to drive all that way.

JAY,

Be VEEEEERRRRYYYY careful when my CHEVY powered baby arrives. Let's only break one at a time.

Glad to hear you got the vette. It must be a beauty.
I would say you have the situation well at hand , one
for sunny days, one for the rainy days. The vette is truly the better choice for wet roads as it sticks
like a slot car.
I sure hope to see you and Mr. Lucky at the next Fling. Hopefully the GT40 will be ready.
Sorry, I don't know of any Ultimas around here but I will ask around. When I was at the 2nd or 3rd Run & gun
there were 4 of them there ,Two black one red and one yellow if I remember correctly. also they should be in an old issue of KC who covered the event. I will try and find it for you.

I was surprised that it wieghed more than a GT40 .
It's a pretty car though.
