Well, looking from the rather unoffical poll the GT40 breakdown is as follows:

Just for the sake of knowing, what chassis number do we have on the board for a real GT40?

Not bad, and I think there are others who did not vote. That is about 20 users and the use log shows many more who are not registered or post but browse.

So, it is enough. If everyone thinks it is a good idea (feedback please) We're going to take the board over to a commerical server so we'll have better features and we can archive. Furthermore, we can use the GT40s domain name as the site instead of my personal home page.

I've talked about doing it in the past but I think we'll get plently of use out of it. I think we've got a large enough subset of the replica car hobby to warrent out own board. Our posts have a short lifetime on the Cobra boards (unless it is about pricing) and it is doubtful we'll get specifically good help or information.

I'll try and get this completed for the month of September. There won't be any costs for anyone, but if the fees get excessive we might try to get a donation going to pay for the hosting service. I'll find out what they are.

I have been waiting for you to switch the site over...way to go!!
I know that more enthusiast will use this site as time goes by. If there is a small subsciption fee to help you get it going I will be more than happy to help.
I believe that all the GT40 manufacturers and owners will benifit from this site. They will learn from each other and get a good idea how the consumers feel about their products. Mainly I think it will help all of us.

As one of the "Lurkers" in the Forum. It sounds like a good idea to me.
I've found the exchanges on this board to be invaluable, and I think a lot of the content actually extends beyond GT40's and is applicable to any Mid Engined replica or "kitcar".
At the moment I'm seriously considering building the Gardner Douglas T70 replica and I've found this site as useful as any on the net.
Keep up the good work, update your build diary and hurry up and make some mistakes so we can find out how you work around them

I think that would be great. The site is so helpful now that I can only imagine it will be even better. Just keep up the good work and realize any small fee to keep the site up will be money well spent. Thank you for doing such a great job for all of us. I look forward to seeing the new site.
