I have just about completed all the paneling. I will be getting them coated this week. The body is now fitted and everything lined up very nicely. I just have one more door to go. The radiator is also in as I used it to ensure I wasn't mounting the front clip to low. The drive train is done and ready to go in the car as soon as I get all the panels permenently attached. I will be working on the front suspension this weekend. The wheels are polished and painted (BRM six spoke replica's)and have Yokohama A032R's mounted on them. I have 225x50ZR16's on the front and 255x50ZR16's on the rear. I have also completed other sub assemblies such as the dash which is ready to install.

Friday I visted Jay Nordstrom who is also here in Dallas. He is building a Sabre GT40. He has his chassis just about done and is mounting the body which he just received. The quality of the fiber glass was very good. He should also have his motor in very soon.

Man oh man!! I got some catching up to do! I'm still sorting parts and getting it setup to work on. But look out once I get started!. I can't wait to see all of our cars parked next to each other at the Fling. I remember when the FFR Daytona coupe showed up at the Fling. Everybody swarmed it. It was pretty much the hit of the show along with DVII and the real cobras. So I hope thats what happens to us when we show up.

How is your construction going? I was in Phoenix yesterday and visited with Gordon Levy and took a ride in the RF GT40 - nice piece of work. Gordon got me a bit nervous about doing the work myself, quoting 800 hours to build. How do you feel your work is progressing - is 800 hours reasonable?

Also, on a personal note, I live in Houston but come to Dallas frequently. Might there be an opportunity to meet you and your car?

You are welcome to see the kit anytime you are in Dallas. I don't know about hours because I haven't had any interest in keeping track. There have been many improvements in the car since the blue car that you saw was built. The paneling is now much cleaner and easier. If you aren't comfortable with building it all yourself then have Gordon do it. GT40's are much more complicated than Cobra's but the new build manual is very well done and can walk anybody through it if you have some basic automotive experience.
